My ex and I, our relationship ended years ago. Things were really rough before it ended, there were yelling matches, slamming doors; I felt like I was walking on eggshells in my own home. Fear of what would spark the next argument ruled my days. What was sad was it wasn’t like that before we got married. Our relationship before we got married was the stuff of fairy tales. We went on dates, we made time for each other, we supported each other in everything we wanted to do; but once we said our vows everything changed. He became quick to anger, and quicker to snap. My ex has my daughter. She’s been there for a while. Beyond what our custody agreement allows. My ex has been using her to manipulate me. To control what I’m doing, where I go, and even who I talk to. I’m heart broken. I miss her so much. Her laugh, her smile. I last saw her when she was 14 months old. At night I find myself staring at my empty living room, imagining her toddling across the floor with her chocolate covered face and toothy grin. Sometimes I catch myself listening at her bedroom, waiting for a cry to signal to me that she’s awake. Only to have my heart drop when I remember her barren crib. Don't Buy From Knock Off Sites

If you clicked on this post chances are you know the websites I meant in the title. Those websites with clearly photoshopped images, or tons of selfie pictures. Usually they have everything on sale and it’s some random percentage off, like 68% off the full price. Their prices always seem too good to be true, but you find yourself aimlessly scrolling the site for clothes because you hope it’s real. One of my old coworkers introduced me to these kinds of sites by mistake one day. She had ordered a ton of clothes and being a larger lady she had ordered some 2x sweaters. When they came the sizing was absolutely off. Her 2x sweaters fit her ferret. She thought it was so funny she took pictures and was showing them around the office. She said that because return shipping was like $90 to send it back overseas she may as well get a laugh out of what happened. Her experience always stuck out to me. How naive do you have to be to think you are going to get decent brand new clothes for $2.40.

The bell on the door dinged softly as I pushed my way into the diner. The silence was overwhelming as I surveyed the dining room. I fiddled with the keys in my hand. I had frequented the dinner with my dad as a young kid. Its mint vinyl seats and pink table tops were like a window into the sixties. We used to sit at the counter and order old fashioned malts, and the elderly owner, Ned, always served them with a smile on his face. He often handled the cooking while his wife was usually the only waitress there. Every summer their niece would come out to visit and would help with bussing tables. The diner was famous for its notoriously delicious burgers and malts, there wasn’t a place in the tri-county area that had a reputation like they did. The diner had been in their family for as long as anyone in town could remember. Ned’s grandfather had started it and it was passed down to Ned’s dad and finally to Ned. It was never extremely busy, but it had just enough customers to stay afloat

It was about midnight when I got the call. It wasn’t unusual, you were stranded on the side of the road and needed a lift. When I got there I felt all of the air suck out of my lungs. You had striking blue eyes and waist length brown hair. You seem cold so I wrapped my jacket around your shoulders. I helped you into the car. You didn’t say anything, so I just kinda rambled, hoping you’d relax. You didn’t say anything when I told you I knew of a place you could stay for the night. You just stared. I wouldn’t have felt right leaving you out in the elements, we were supposed to get a storm and I knew you wouldn’t make it through it unscathed. I know that it’s strange to say, but I truly wish I was colorblind right now. Color is an amazing thing. People have studied color and the effect it has on people for years. One of the best examples is probably Baker-Miller Pink, or more commonly known as drunk tank pink. Baker-Miller pink is a vibrant and unique shade of pink. In the 60s and 70s a man was conducting research on how color could cause emotional and hormonal changes in the people looking at the color and he discovered that Baker-Miller Pink lowered the heart rate, pulse and respiration of the people viewing the color. This started a landslide of jails painting their cells this specific shade of pink. Football teams would paint the opposing team's locker rooms pink in hopes of calming the athletes down and diminishing their ability to play effectively. What the researcher failed to advertise was that exposing people to Baker-Miller pink for longer than 15 minutes would actually cause the people viewing it to experience

I was seller on etsy for about 7+ years. I sold jewelry, home decor. It was one of my coping skills as strange as it sounds. I could focus on making product, uploading it and helping people. Last week etsy decided to deactivate a rainbow lava rock and quartz pendulum, saying it was drug paraphernalia. I really would love to know how a beaded pendulum could be used for elicit drugs. My sales this year have been nonexistent, and etsys new policies very much punish people who do one of a kind items. I don’t repeat anything I make. Ever. Because of that I don’t have star listings that get shown higher in searches. They redid their seo, and at that time I was close to a thousand listings. As a single mom, who did this casually, I didn’t have the time or ability to go through and edit each listing. They’ve totally lost connection to how they started, and I won’t be a part of it anymore. I am looking for a new platform if anyone has recommendations.
